Mmmm...good! LG’s scheduled release of the new Android 2.2 in February 2011 is set to have some surprises for the smartphone user. This new LG Ally will now have the much-touted Froyo update, which is bound to improve the functionality of the phone. The new release is also the fastest Smartphone in the market and is creating some buzz about its features, especially in the.LG Community.

Indeed, the LG Ally’s Froyo with all the yummy fix-ins. For one, Froyo has been able to do away with two distinct disadvantages found in the Android OS. With Froyo, you can now make voice dialing and calls over Bluetooth. You can dial both the contact name as well as the phone number and you can do this hands-free, too! This is a big plus for drivers. Another big plus would be the ability to use your memory card to store your apps. This means that you can free up more room on your phone memory that you can use for other content.

Here’s what you can look forward to with this new LG Mobile phone:

· Portable Hotspot. Froyo’s strongest feature is undoubtedly the ability to use the LG Ally and turn it into a Wi-Fi hotspot that can handle as much as 8 devices. The newest Android update transforms the phone into a 3G connection for a laptop with Windows or Linux. All you need is a USB cable connector.

· Performance and speed. You can enjoy smooth performance and faster app switching with the Kernel Memory Management Boosts, which improves memory reclaim by as much as twenty times. The same performance goes for web browsing.

· Home Screen . For first time users, there are screen tips that provide the basics on how you can use the phone, especially set up the home screen configurations. There are 5 home screen panels that have shortcuts for easier access.

· Ability to Share applications. Share applications through Facebook, Twitter, Bluetooth, Friend Stream, text message and e-mail accounts such as Gmail. You can send a link to friends who can then download the app from the Android Market.

· Exchange support . Users can enjoy better LG Mobile support for its exchanges. In case the phone is stolen or lost, administrators can secure data by resetting the phone to factory defaults. There is also added security with the use of alpha-numeric or numeric pin passwords. You can also access exchange calendars and global address lists look-up in the exchange. Once you have synced the calendars to your Facebook account, you can be reminded of friends and loved ones’ birthdays as shown on Facebook.

· Camera and picture gallery . Its 3.2 camera is not its best feature – we must admit. But camera and gallery interface has been improved. The LG Ally enables you to peek into photo stacks with just a zoom gesture and enjoy faster photo review with a thumbnail utility. You don’t have to leave the photo gallery application to access photos on Facebook, as well as read comments and write a new one.

There is also easier access to user interfaces for flash, geo-tagging, zoom control, change of orientation, focus and exposure. These icons rotate as you rotate your phone – so there’s no need to look at them upside down even as the cons stay on the side that’s nearest the navigation controls. You can also easily set up the video mode to produce videos for YouTube and MMS. You can shoot videos and photos in low light and night settings due to the LED flash. The frame rate has been doubled to ~20 FPS from ~10FPS.

· Keyboard functionality . For those who are using multiple languages, you can load a number of languages to the keyboard and switch from one language to the other by simply swiping the space bar. With this you can change the auto-suggest dictionary and the keys.

These are just some of the features of the new LG cellphoneto get excited about. You can also expect Android 2.2 to be in entry-level phones such as the LG Optimus series.
